A mysterious being who visits the glass studio at whim, to create puzzlement bewilderment and consternation in equal measure.
It only visits when a kiln is firing, usually when one is doing the firing which must ‘just come out right or there’ll be all hell to pay'. It is an imp born of flame and heat, and has a most peculiar sense of humor.
Sceptical?
How else to explain the nth firing in a row which comes out different to the rest: everything went in the same, but oohh!!! look at this one.
Who moves the piece of glass during the firing?
Misaligns the edges.
Who cracks the piece when others from the same sheet have fired perfectly?
Oh yes!! There’s a kiln god/dess: and you’ll be visited. You can bet on it.
